My name is Eric McLean, and I am the editor of Discord Theory. This is an anti-authoritarian blog, but posts here cover a variety of topics, not just anti-authoritarian politics. Art, religion, the occult, and a host of other topics deserve to be written about here as well. I hope you get something out of the content hosted on this site.
Here's a little information about my background. My early childhood was the subject of national news coverage and true crime TV specials because of a tragedy that tore my family apart. In high school, I was editor of the school paper, became anarchist, engaged in extensive agorism, and put out a studio album as drummer of the metalcore band Across April Skies. Our band went on to play in multiple states, sometimes in large venues, and sometimes with relatively popular bands. In my early twenties my actions under the online pseudonym I used at the time seem to have directly contributed to an associate of mine shutting down all of the online infrastructure he ran at the time for the anti-civilization movement Pine Tree Gang, which he had been a figurehead of and which had largely devolved into outright eco-fascism. After this, the movement was never the same. Not long after this happened, I set out on the road with a backpack, hitchhiking and hopping freight trains throughout the southeastern United States for half a year. Upon returning home, a mental health crisis led to me spending a year in jail and a year on house arrest until the charges were dismissed. Since then I have made experimental music with a variety of talented artists both online and locally, and have worked on zines and other writing projects.
